A Guide to Diabetes Recipes

If you suffer from diabetes, then one of the best things you can do for yourself is eat a healthy and nutritious diet. There is a multitude of different diabetes recipes that you can use, which are specifically formulated to be healthy for diabetics, and so not only are these diabetes recipes delicious but as well they will not cause problems with your diabetic condition.

There are really too many diabetes recipes to list, however there are a few that stand out from among the rest, one in particular being the black and white bean salad recipe. This recipe is incredibly easy, and all you need is 2 cups finely chopped onions, 2 tbsp. olive oil, 1/3 cup red wine vinegar, ¼ cup chopped red pepper, 2 tbsp. minced parsley, 2 cloves minced garlic, 2 tbsp. Equal Spoonful, ¼ tsp. salt, ¼ tsp. freshly ground pepper, 1 can great northern beans rinsed and drained, 1 can black beans rinsed and drained, and red pepper rings.

All you do to make this recipe is sauté the onions in oil in a medium skillet until they are crisp-tender, then remove them from the heat and let them cool until they are warm. Then you stir the vinegar, red pepper, parsley, garlic, Equal Spoonful, salt, pepper and onions together, and pour the onion mixture over combined beans in a bowl, mix well, and then garnish with the red pepper rings.

Another of the more popular diabetes recipes is the rice salad recipe, for which you will need 4 cups hot cooked rice, 1 can kidney beans rinsed and drained, 1 small onion chopped, ¼ cup vegetable oil, 2 tbsp. white vinegar, 1 tbsp. granulated sugar, 1 tbsp. pickle relish, 1 ½ tbsp. chili powder, and 1 medium green pepper chopped.

All you need to do to make this delicious rice salad is combine the rice, beans and onion, then in a separate bowl combine the oil, vinegar, sugar, relish and chili powder. Then you toss this with the rice mixture, and cover and let chill for several hours. Then, just before you are going to serve it, you stir in the green pepper.

There are numerous other recipes that you can choose from as well, and one great idea is to make yourself a recipe book filled with your favorite diabetes recipes, so that whenever you go to make a meal you just have to put out this book and you will have a mountain of options at your fingertips to choose from.
